Encourage Healthy Technology Use in Our Schools

We support technology that is intentional, age-appropriate, and in service of learning.

Generative AI

Before a district-wide AI rollout, let’s ask the simple questions: what’s appropriate at each grade, and how do we weigh benefits against risks?

Devices & EdTech

A parent- and teacher-informed policy for district devices: age-appropriate limits, approved content, offline-first by default.

The Promise of Tech in Schools Hasn’t Turned Out as We’d Hoped

We were told that giving every student a device would improve learning and close the equity gap. The results are in, and too often the opposite has happened: fragmented attention, lower scores, and kids serving as guinea pigs for thousands of gamified apps.

Technology has a place in schools. But we won’t let it run the show or own our kids’ futures. It’s time to ask what it’s actually for, how much is too much, and who gets to weigh in.

Phone-Free Schools

Real-world play and friendship, and delaying smartphones and social media until kids are ready.

"I see firsthand how phones and smart devices are decimating our students’ ability to focus and engage in the school day. Even when the phone is in a student’s pocket, the amount of buzzing from notifications is a constant leech on their attention."

Teacher Partnership

We Work Alongside Educators, Not Around Them

Teachers didn’t sign up to be hall monitors or Chromebook police. We want to reduce the burden that phone and device enforcement places on teaching, and free them to do what they do best.
